ESA McIntosh Schools Creative Partnership
New approaches and solutions for school designs to reflect the changing needs of learning in the 21st century are vital for the future.
ESA McIntosh has formed a close creative partnership with Kirkcaldy High School, St Andrew’s High School, Fife Council and Fife Enterprise (Fife Education Service) in a move to improve school learning environments within the local community.
The partnership revolves around two key themes: Creative Classrooms and Learning + Industry, where the objectives are to promote creative idea generation for product development, the design of classrooms for the future and supporting learning through student involvement in the industry.
Through the partnership, pupils will benefit from participation in a live classroom design project to complement curriculum learning with industrial insights from ESA McIntosh, whilst also learning about other elements such as business and manufacturing.
Meanwhile, Fife Council will have a channel to seek ideas and user responses to school and classroom design and planning, whilst ESA McIntosh will intrinsically benefit from a creative incubation tool for innovative product development and at the same time contribute positively towards the local community.
By Easter 2009, teachers and pupils of the schools will be able to enjoy using the learning environments which they have designed. These model classrooms will inspire even better creative learning environments for the future.
